"Education is not limited to the traditional classroom. For many kids around the world who work for their parents' businesses, the street corner is also their business school. The idea behind Project Mobi is to take advantage of the intellectual capital and business know-how of these children and turn it into a way for them to enjoy the benefits of technology in their classrooms.
By creating tutorial videos, these kids can transmit their business knowledge base to students in the developed world who do not have that wealth of knowledge. The kids in the developed world do have access to more capital, however, and with the knowledge they gain and the access they have, profits can be generated to payback their peer-teachers with technology.
Mobile devices such as the iPod Touch are everywhere and their influence will only grow in both business and education. In an effort to bridge the digital divide and connect students from around the globe, Project Mobi will launch in 2010 with the purpose of getting these mobile devices into the hands of students in Mumbai."
